‘’Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.’’ - Ephesians 6:10-13 (KJV)
The armour of God has ever been a fascinating topic to Bible-based Christians the world over, yet it seems many have only a faint idea of what it entails, how to get it and how to keep it on. With so many speculations on this armour, how can one ever understand this important and yet (apparently) misunderstood topic?
In Ephesians 6:10-13 above, Paul implores us to be ‘strong in the Lord’. As a way to this strength in the Lord, he asks us to put on the ‘whole armour of God’ and he tells us why. We live a dangerous world, a world full of sin, a world under the sway of the evil one. We live in a world where temptations abound plentifully, ‘wiles of the devil’ urging us to compromise our faith for the passing pleasures of this world.
Beyond the physical, we face battle from the ‘principalities’ and ‘powers’ of the wicked one. We are being targeted for destruction and ‘spiritual wickedness’. Paul understands this and offers the whole armour of God as the ONLY solution and means of protection. Hence, the ‘whole armour’ is important. How do we secure this priceless and indispensable armour?
The Bible will tell us. It will show the way to the armour and its Giver as well. In this series, we will discover what the ‘whole armour’ is, how we can secure it and, importantly, how we can keep it on.

‘’We must put on every piece of the armour, and then stand firm. The Lord has honoured us by choosing us as His soldiers. Let us fight bravely for Him, maintaining the right in every transaction. Rectitude in all things is essential to the welfare of the soul.’’ - (YI Sept. 12, 1901).
