GOD WAS IN THE REFORMATION FROM THE BEGINNING
When the hour struck for the Reformation, devils and evil men did everything the powers of hell could do to stop it. But non can do anything to stop a movement that God is involved in. Says Paul in 2 Corinthians 13:8, "For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth."
God had to protect the Reformers against the satanic malice of a demons-controlled church for the Reformation to see the light of day.
Let's briefly examine one case:
The night before Martin Luther hammered his 95 theses on the door of the castle church at Wittenberg, the Elector Frederick of Saxony had a remarkable dream that had a strong impact on him as well as the Reformation. Let's allow a renowned Protestant historian of the Reformation, often quoted by Mrs. White, to recount the story of the dream as the Elector related it to his brother, Duke John, the next morning:
"'I must tell you a dream which I had last night. . . . For I dreamed it trice, and each time with new circumstances. . . . I fell asleep, . . . I then awoke. . . . I prayed . . . God to guide me, my counsels, and my people according to truth. I again fell asleep, and then dreamed that Almighty God sent me a monk. . . . All the saints accompanied him by order of God, in order to bear testimony before me, and to declare that he did not come to contrive any plot. . . . They asked me to have the goodness graciously to permit him write something on the door of the church of the Castle of Wittenberg. This I granted through my chancellor. Therefore the monk went to the church, and began to write in such large characters that I could read the writing at Schweinitz. The pen which he used was so large that its end reached as far as Rome, where it pierced the ears of a lion that was crouching there, and caused the triple crown upon the head of the Pope to shake. All the cardinals and princes, running hastily up, tried to prevent it from falling. . . . I awoke, . . . it was a dream. [Again he fell asleep.]

"'Then I dreamed that all the princes of the Empire, and we among them, hastened to Rome, and strove, one after another, to break the pen; but the more we tried the stiffer it became, sounding as if it had been made of iron. We at length desisted. . . . Suddenly I heard a loud noise--a number of other pens had sprung out of the long pen the monk. I awoke a third time: it was daylight.' . . .
"So passed the morning of the 31st October, 1517, in the royal castle of Schweinitz. . . . The Elector has hardly made an end of telling his dream when the monk comes with the hammer to interpret it"(J. A. Wylie, LL.D, HISTORY OF PROTESTANTISM, Vol. 1, pp. 263-266).
Is this all by happenstance? Hardly. It wasn't any wonder then that the Elector of Saxony became Luther's protector during the long, dark and foreboding days of the Reformation. You can read the rest of the exciting story of God's involvement and guidance in THE GREAT CONTROVERSY, a book written by God's own bidding to keep the spirit of the Reformation alive till the end of time, when truth shall triumph over error, righteousness over son, and good over evil. The inspired writer says:
"I was moved by the Spirit of the Lord to write that book, and while working upon it, I felt a great burden upon my soul. I knew that time was short, that the scenes which are soon to crowd upon us would at the last come very suddenly and swiftly, as presented in the words of Scripture: 'The day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.'"(Ellen G. White, COLPORTEUR MINISTRY, p. 127).
Now we must now ask ourselves, what is our place in all these? Surely it is to align ourselves with the faith of our fathers and carry their work to completion, FINISHING THE REFORMATION, with everything God has given us.
Army of Volunteer for Christ (AVC) is inspired to provide the platform for you to fulfill you part on the winning side of the great controversy so the King of kings can come and take us home.
Stand with us, pray with us, as we reconnect with the faith of true Protestantism. Because the God who began the Reformation will finish it.
